I want to ask you a question. You may not like the answer though. Can you call your home a retreat, sanctuary, or any of these loving words? Does it comfort you and keep you going in this world of many challenges? Do you walk into your home and feel the stress melt away? Are you able to tap into your potential and talents and actualize on inspiration you may receive in and out of your home? Is your need for relief, relaxation, and safety met here?
In other words, how do you feel when you are driving home or walking through the door?
There may be differing answers for you and for the other members in your home. You, perhaps, do not feel recharged or reenergized from your home. That may be due to your overwhelming number of responsibilities in the home- feeding everyone, cleaning the home, taking care of the housework, doing the laundry, cooking, etc. You still, however, need to be able to recharge your batteries in order to be able to take care of everyone else.
You know how in an airplane, the flight attendants tell you to put your oxygen mask on first before any childs’. Your needs need to come first.
If you answered “No” to the questions I asked you about whether your home is a rejuvenating place for you, it is time to create the home that I describe above. You deserve it and need it.
To read more about why many of us have not been able to get organized in the P.A.S.T, go to www.cluborganized.com and become a free member.
I’ll briefly review my acronym P.A.S.T. so it makes sense to you.
P stands for clutter Personality Types. The 3 basic types are Thinker, Doer, and Feeler. These 3 types come from the three parts of the brain, actually.
Thinker-You are highly intelligent, self-critical or apologetic, compare yourself to others, and often a procrastinator due to your perfectionist nature. You are excellent with coming up with solutions, practical problems and thinking in abstract terms. Are you cautious and careful? Do you struggle with making decisions? Your complex, deliberated thought process and analysis perhaps seems “slow” to others.
Doer- You are creative, fast-paced, full of ideas, often shift from one thing to another, not really sticking to any particular system. Looking for the newest way to “cut corners”. Do you lose interest easily, seeming inconsistent to others, have a hard time focusing? It’s torture for you to think about working only on one thing at a time. You love beautiful things and want them so much, you’ll go back to the store and get it.
Feeler-It’s hard for you to say no. You feel sentimental about many objects, you are people-oriented, often concerned about hurting people’s feelings. It’s tough for you to make time for yourself. Your home is made up of bits and pieces of your family.
There’s another feeler category. A feeler/nurturer takes pride that others depend on you. Do you have an image of how you want your home to look and a preconceived notion to how it “should” be? Listening to others tell you how to change your home feels a little threatening.
-A stands for attitudes that work against us.
-S stands for sociological and inherited beliefs we have about ourselves and our clutter, i.e., self criticism, guilt.
-T is for the technical difficulties in your home, such as not liking the space or not enough lighting in a room.
Why did I start with the mushy talk before I told you the practical steps for how to organize? Because, changes begin from inside. As Hannah Kelley says of The Art of Home, “Until you understand the reasons behind your behaviors, you will never be able to permanently change.”
I hope you’ve perhaps identified with one of the Personality types or recognize some of the attitudes (last issue) that work against you, you may be holding. Because, if you do, now we can get started formulating a customized plan on how to organize. It’s like a movie. You may like action while your spouse hates action movies. Your preferences are different than the next persons.
However, movies are made with basic overall guidelines, introduction, plot, climax, resolution (like a book) and these general principles, do work in fact for many people while the different movie genres are preferred by diverse individuals.
I have an organizing method that I find works to get people organized. I will explain my theory and then customize the action steps according to your Clutter Personality Type-thinker, doer, and feeler. Like the movie.
I call it DECORganize™. I recently formulated this principle after years of watching different types of people struggle with wanting to get organized, doing it, and staying organized. If you are a doer/creative person, you are going to love DECORganize™. A thinker or feeler can stretch to do this, and only positive rewards will be the result.
It’s hard to feel the motivation to organize. Yes, clutter is like a spreading mass (pardon the analogy, but it is). It is dangerous, harmful, and continues to grow unless thwarted by continuous efforts to monitor it and remove. STILL, thinking of clutter this way is often is not enough to push people to organize.
I love how Hannah Keeley, author of The Art of Home puts it. We still don’t feel motivated to remove clutter even when seeing it as dangerous and growing because clutter is comforting. Hannah says, “We all have “creature comforts”. Thinkers like to buy lots of books and software. You like having the power of knowledge to handle a situation. Nurturer/Feelers like to buy gifts for the kids or the home. Doers like to buy beautiful things and tools that teach skills or “cut corners.” And once we accumulate all of this stuff, it’s so hard to want to get rid of it or organize it, because it is comfortable to be surrounded by all this stuff we like.
Getting out of your comfort zone is hard. I know! I also know that getting rid of clutter is exhilarating. Talk to anyone who has recently undergone a purging job. They’ll tell you how much better they feel. Guaranteed.
No longer do I have to really push people to organize or even find the motivation to organize. That’s because ™ is a motivator in itself. I’m finding, that when people (especially creative doers) create beautifully decorated small areas or corners of their homes first, they are then motivated to organize and stay that way.
Does this sound backwards? Decorating and rearranging before organizing? It kind of is. But it provides INSTANT rewards and DECORganize gratification and that is what people want today.
How to do it?
Start here. Decide which room is most important to begin loving? Your bedroom? I like to start here because where you sleep is where you recharge, get inspiration, etc. It is the basis for everything else that happens in your home. If you are not happy, no one else in your family will be happy.
Start with a clean slate and start small if you are currently living below clutter. Maybe just your bed you’ll DECORganize™.
You can use 4 boxes or even laundry baskets, and trashbags for putting all surrounding clutter away.
Move all the clutter around the bed or in the bedroom into one of these containers. If you don’t want to sort now, then literally take your arm, and go around sweeping all clutter off of your dresser tops, nightstands, and the floor…into a box. Get it out of site. You’ll deal with it later. (We'll use Julie Morgenstern's SPACE formula to deal with the clutter).
Rearrange furniture in the most beautiful way. Go find pillows and a bedspread you love and add color to your bedroom.
Thinkers-don’t waste time figuring out the best way to do this. Decide on a plan of action-ex. You have until Wednesday by 3PM to go to HomeGoods and pick out a beautiful bedspread with coordinating pillows.
Nurturers/Feelers-Even if you are not sure it is going to match, put something you love on the bed. You can always change it later. It doesn’t have to coordinate with anything else in the house. Just do it.
Doers-You probably have something around the house that can serve this purpose. I know you’ll have no trouble with this step. If you do have things lying around that could potentially decorate the bed and you want to buy new ones, then you need to force yourself to purge at least the same amount of things you are buying.
Yes! You now have an area that is beautifully decorated. Decorating and decluttering by removing everything else in the space is going to force you to organize. By organize I mean sorting through the clutter you removed and asking yourself if you love it. Let me say though, once you see how beautiful your room turned out, you most likely won’t even want to deal with what is in the box.
Even if the rest of your home is full of clutter, wouldn’t it be great to own little areas that look like some of the magazine pictures you love? A dressing area with a makeup table, a reading corner, or a Martha Stewart like linen closet? A photography station or a correspondence area stocked with stationary, stamps, pens, and stickers?
Start small. If you need more ideas of what and how to create the little areas, cut pictures that you love out of magazines.
Thinkers- get your strategy down pat and then do it before a deadline or before the timer rings.
Doers-ask a thinker for assistance with your strategy and then run with it.
Nurturer/Feeler-make it work for the whole family. Let your nurturer float around the areas you DECORganize, instead of the entire house.
For more ideas on areas in your home to DECORganize, I’m sending you my free Organizing from A-Z Design Pak as a bonus.
By the way, when you signed up for the SECRETS of DECORganize, you will now be the first to know when my book, How to DECORganize every room in your home comes out. That means discounts and coupons just to you!
Meditation Role In Today's Modern Society Published on 29-01-2006

Like many people in our world today, I sometimes seem overwhelmed with the things that I have to do in a day. Work, eat, sleep, play, exercise, read, watch TV, love, be loved, answer questions, listen to music, learn something new, and the list goes on and on.
How can we fit everything into our crowded schedules? How can we accomplish anything? The answer to this question is learning to let go and go with the flow. But I can't let go of some of the things that are listed
here you say. Then learn to Meditate and your path will be easier. But I don't know how to Meditate you say. I will teach you how.
First you must find some time and a place where you can be alone in silence. That means no TV or radio and no distractions. Next you must find a comfortable chair to sit in. Once these two items are found, you can begin.
Start by closing your eyes and noticing how tense your body really is.
Start to let go of these tensions one by one by relaxing that part of your body.
Focus your concentration on that part of the body that has the most tension and let go of that tension first. Take deep breaths and then let those breaths out slowly until the tension is gone.
Once you have done this for your entire body, then concentrate on your breathing.
Notice how calm it has become.
After this initial session, you will find that you have a renewed sense of energy and you will feel that you can accomplish anything. In fact, you will be able to get more done. This way you can squeeze more life out of life in our Modern society.
7 Day Program to Self-Improvement Published on 29-01-2006

I seem to lost count on how many times I've read and heard of celebrity marriages failing almost left and right. Not that I care (and personally I don't), it seems strange that we often see movie and TV stars as flawless people, living the fairytale life of riches and glamour. I suppose we all have to stop sticking our heads in the clouds and face reality.
There are many ways to lose your sense of self-esteem despite of how trivial it could get. But whatever happens, we should all try not to lose our own sense of self.
So what does it take to be a cut above the rest? Here are some of the things you can think and improve on that should be enough for a week.
1. Know your purpose
Are you wandering through life with little direction - hoping that you'll find happiness, health and prosperity? Identify your life purpose or mission statement and you will have your own unique compass that will lead you to your truth north every time.
This may seem tricky at first when you see yourself to be in a tight or even dead end. But there's always that little loophole to turn things around and you can make a big difference to yourself.
2. Know your values
What do you value most? Make a list of your top 5 values. Some examples are security, freedom, family, spiritual development, learning. As you set your goals for 2005 - check your goals against your values. If the goal doesn't align with any of your top five values - you may want to reconsider it or revise it.
The number shouldn't discourage you, instead it should motivate you to do more than you can ever dreamed of.
3. Know your needs
Unmet needs can keep you from living authentically. Take care of yourself. Do you have a need to be acknowledged, to be right, to be in control, to be loved? There are so many people who lived their lives without realizing their dreams and most of them end up being stressed or even depressed for that matter. List your top four needs and get them met before it's too late!
4. Know your passions
You know who you are and what you truly enjoy in life. Obstacles like doubt and lack of enthusiasm will only hinder you, but will not derail your chance to become the person you ought to be. Express yourself and honor the people who has inspired you to become the very person you wanted to be.
5. Live from the inside out
Increase your awareness of your inner wisdom by regularly reflecting in silence. Commune with nature. Breathe deeply to quiet your distracted mind. For most of us city slickers it's hard to even find the peace and quiet we want even in our own home. In my case I often just sit in a dimly lit room and play some classical music. There's sound, yes, but music does soothe the savage beast.
6. Honor your strengths
What are your positive traits? What special talents do you have? List three - if you get stuck, ask those closest to you to help identify these. Are you imaginative, witty, good with your hands? Find ways to express your authentic self through your strengths. You can increase your self-confidence when you can share what you know to others.
7. Serve others
When you live authentically, you may find that you develop an interconnected sense of being. When you are true to who you are, living your purpose and giving of your talents to the world around you, you give back in service what you came to share with others -your spirit - your essence. The rewards for sharing your gift with those close to you is indeed rewarding, much more if it were to be the eyes of a stranger who can appreciate what you have done to them.
Self-improvement is indeed one type of work that is worth it. It shouldn't always be within the confines of an office building, or maybe in the four corners of your own room. The difference lies within ourselves and how much we want to change for the better.
Why You Should Not Change Credit Cards Too Often Published on 23-02-2006

There are some great credit card deals around at the moment and on the surface it would seem silly not to check them out. There are a few things however that you must bear in mind when doing your research.
Always check the small print, if you make an application to see if you can get a good deal you may have authorised a series of searches on your credit report. You must remember that a footprint will be left on your record for 12 months.
When you then see a better deal you may well be rejected. You see, a new lender will just see searches and they do not know why they are there. They may see this as evidence that you have been rejected, have too much credit that you cannot afford or you have been subjected to fraud
So bear this in mind and be careful. Get a quotation, rather than apply for credit as this should not show up on your record. If for some reason it does it will clearly show as a quote only and should not affect you chances of future credit.
Do not allow a full search until you until you are certain you have found the right deal. Sometimes this can be difficult if your credit history is less than perfect but a good broker should be able to point you in the right direction. A company cannot do a search without your permission.
Lets get back to credit cards again. We all do it. Zero balance for 6-9 months then move on. This should not matter too much with your credit rating as long as you make your payments on time and you cancel old cards (Don’t just cut them in half, you must tell the lender). If you don’t, you have access to too much credit. Other lenders may not like this. Also, don’t forget that lenders hope that you don’t change at the end of the term and pay the higher rate. How else do you think they make their money?
If you are worried that searches have damaged your credit rating, you can contact the credit agencies who hold your details. The main ones are experian and Equifax. You can get more details of these from my website. If there are any errors, there are ways that you can correct this.

Whether you want to start a Home Business to make a part-time income or to replace your full time job, there are some steps you will need to take to make the process easier. Of course, you can leave these steps out, but you will find it much harder to focus and will be easily distracted from your goals.
The Internet is now a huge marketplace for any business. More and more people use the Internet everyday to purchase anything from clothes to cars, and you CAN cash in on this phenomenon. Even if you have virtually
no experience of Internet Marketing you can literally start up an Online Home Business overnight.
Here are 7 simple steps you should take to ensure that you start the best home business to suit your lifestyle:
1. Set your Home Business Goals.
It is essential to set goals and objectives and then design strategies for attaining them. This will be your Business Plan.
Some questions you should ask yourself:
Why do I want to start up an Online Home Business?
What product or service can I provide?
Do I have the expertise to provide this service?
Do I know enough about the competetion?
Where will my customers come from?
What do I have that people are searching for?
Take the time to write down your questions and answers and thoroughly research your chosen market.
2. Identify your Internet Business Market.
Use search engines such as Google and Overture to find out where you customers will come from. Look for sites selling
similar items and forums related to your product or service.
3. Choose a Domain Name that reflects your Internet Business.
This is an important step as your Domain Name will be used to identify the type of business you run. Try to come up with a name
that reflects your business - e.g.if your business is selling widgets you should try to include the term "widget" in your domain name.
The ideal name for this example would be "widget.com" but you could also use names like "best-widgets.com" or "wholesalewidgets.com".
4. Find a good Web Host and build a simple but professional website.
You can use free hosting if you are really strapped for cash, but this is not a good idea. There are a number of Webhosting Companies
that offer very good services for only a few dollars a month.
5. Create your Unique Selling Point (UPS).
Make your customers think you are an expert on the product or service you are providing. If you offer expert opinion, your customers
will feel more secure buying from yur website.
6. Market your new website on the Internet.
Here are some ways you can market your Internet Business. These are not the only ways to get traffic to your site, but they are the most
popular. When it comes to advertising your website, get creative!
Search Engines
E-mail Marketing
Forum Postings
Viral Marketing
Affiliate Programs
7. Track your sales and visitors.
Tracking your sales and visitors allows you to analyse your promotion methods. You can decide which methods are working well for you and
which you need to improve on.
If you follow these smple steps you will have the basis for a Home Business on the Internet that could provide you with extra income if you
just want to work part time - or with full-time income if you want to quit your job and work at home. One last word of advice.....don´t give up
your job until you are sure your Home Business can provide for you and your family!
Starting Your Own Home Business Published on 16-02-2006

While getting advice when you start a home business, it can be easy to get confused. Chances are you don't know anyone else that has started a home business, and you may not know where to go for help.
First go online. The Internet is a great resource for people who have a home business. You can find articles and newsletters with information and advice. There are also many message boards, forums and blogs where you can read, ask questions, and get advice from other SOHO (home business) owners. It is easy enough to use your favorite search engines to find lists of any of the above sources. Sample a few and continue to use the ones that strike your fancy.
Go to your local library. Speak with the librarian. Libraries contain all sorts of home business books and resources. Your librarian should be more than happy to help you do research, and point you in the direction of the most popular resources.
Find a mentor. They are usually volunteers who have had great business success, and will be glad to help you start up a new business. They often have years of experience and can be really helpful. Most cities have organizations for business owners, and members can answer your questions. Try to avoid the "big bucks" coaches who like to flash the hype online. Don't even think about paying one until you've seen some references.
The SBA... The Small Business Administration provides a multitude of material about starting your own SOHO business. Visit http://www.sba.gov ... The Federal Trade Commission's web site has many resources too. Become familiar with the basic legalities at http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/businessinfo/consumer.htm ...
Depending on where you live, you might find local government agencies that will give you free help and advice. Check your local yellow page listings for a small business center in your area. Also, do an online search for any specific topic you may need more information about. Don't overlook local colleges and universities. In particular, check their schedules for free or inexpensive public service classes, workshops, and seminars.
Your bank should have been the first place you went if you were thinking of starting a business. While they're no replacement for accountants, most banks will have a business advisor on staff to help you open a business account. They can be especially helpful with the technical and financial elements of starting your business. Before signing up for a merchant account anywhere else, check with your bank's business services department. They are often much cheaper than independent companies. Furthermore, establishing and cultivating a relationship with a local commercial bank is one of the smartest things you can do for your business!
Lawyers know all about starting a new business, of course. It can be well worth paying for an hour of a lawyer’s time and just asking them every question you can think of. Look around, you may even be able to get a free consultation.
Accountants also know all about business, and can be a less expensive alternative to lawyers. If you want your business to be profitable, you should take the advice your accountant gives you. If you don't have one, you should get one. It is very important to at least get your business' books set up by an accountant with knowledge of your particular field.
Intuit's QuickBooks Pro and Microsoft's Small Business Accounting are excellent tools to assist you with managing a SOHO business. They can produce an accurate record of just about everything you'll need to know at tax time. They also give you a very precise report about how your business is performing at any given time and, more importantly, provide you with a snapshot of how your business is performing relative to other time periods. The included tutorials are also excellent ways to enhance your knowledge of both accounting and business.
Depending on your individual circumstances, you may need to look for investors. There are people who back businesses in order to make their own living. If you think your business would be attractive to investors, then you can try going to an investor with your idea. If they like it, they will often have a quick, smooth process set up to have your company up and running as soon as possible. If they don't, they can explain why they think you might be assuming too much risk in your new venture.
Visit your local universities. They are full of business students. They spend all their time learning about business, and many of them would just love to help get a real one off the ground. Business students can be a great source of free help and advice. They also will have access to research that may prove invaluable in making complex decisions.
Remember, whatever industry you're thinking of entering probably has some kind of trade association, society or union. You should join one as soon as you can, and take advantage of all the resources that they offer to people getting started in their industry. We recommend iCOP, the International Council of Online Professionals for anyone who operates an internet business. Local Better Business Bureau offices are also excellent business associations
There is an endless supply of help and advice out there. Just don't be afraid to ask! But do weigh the advantages and disadvantages of any given source.

Scam, Fraud and Phishing – How To Avoid The eBay Plagues Published on 08-03-2006
By Brigitte Jaeger-Dabek
Resource Brigitte Jaeger-Dabek has written the ebook “How To Start Selling On eBay”. Being a professional author writing books, ebooks and articles, she is also selling info products on eBay and from her website.
Website URL http://www.infoproducts-24.com
If you surf around a little on the internet, you can’t avoid
hearing of the countless people, that have been scammed
at eBay. It seems as if scam, fraud and phishing mails have
become the plagues of eBay nowadays.
It’s easy to complain about all those desperados and
defrauders on a gigantic platform like eBay is one. The
eBay empire is a hard to be controlled multi billion dollar
business and a fun flea market at one time.
If you have been ripped off, in most cases you can kiss
your money goodbye. It’s much easier and the best option
to avoid being defrauded.
Being a buyer on eBay, it is essential to look at the feedback
of a seller. Analyzing the feedback is helpful preventing
scams. Sellers who have a large history of sales and a rating
of about 98% positive feedback are usually professional
to deal with. More than 2-3% negative feedbacks should be
a red alarm. The same thing applies for those who do not
have feedback ratings at all. But even if you are careful in this
point, it is still possible that a scammer has hijacked an account
that has positive feedback. Do your background research,
knowing as much as possible about the products and the sellers is
the best way to protect yourself.
As a buyer you should always make sure to have read the
entire product description on an eBay listing. Things to look
out for are disclaimers, damages, current item condition, and
others. If this information is not specified, it would do well
for the buyer to contact the seller regarding such. By the way:
if the seller does not respond at all, take your hands off!
The price is the next critical point. Think a bit about the value
of the item you are interested in. Do a quick research on
eBay and the internet. If the price for an item is too good to
be true, it not only probably but certainly is. My advice:
Auctions at outrageously low prices should be taken
skeptically.
As a seller, you can easily avoid many scams with by
carefully choosing your payment method among the existing
payment processors. eBay owns Paypal, and in most cases
accepting only Paypal is indeed the payment method you
should use. In case of trouble this way the buyer must
dispute a charge back through Paypal.
What you hardly can avoid as a seller is a buyers bidding
scam. This type of scam is run with two cooperating separate
eBay accounts. A very small bid is placed
on your item using the first account. This is followed by
a very high bid placed by the second eBay account. This
high bid discourages other bidders Seconds before the
bidding ends, the high bid is cancelled by the high bidder,
leaving the low bid as the winning bid. This bidding scam you
can only be avoided by setting a reserve price. The lowest bid
that can be placed will be the same as the reserve price that
you set.
As both a buyer and a seller, also beware of spoofed
emails which appear to be from eBay. The email
may claim that you need to verify your information,
and ask you to login to your eBay account, using
the link provided. If you follow that link, the site looks
exactly like eBay, but it is actually a scam to get
your eBay login details, as well as your credit card
details.
In this connection, one point is obvious: the passing away of
common sense. It’s a phenomenon not only on eBay,
where more and more people disregard the most simple
safety rules in handling their eBay-accounts – wether
they are buyers or sellers.
Let us just look at this example: even if you have more than
one email-address, would eBay ever use another than your
registered email address to send you a members question?
It is easy for you to checkl it. Just go to youre my-eBay-site
and look, if there is a message for you. If not, delete the mail
you’ve got or report it to eBay.
There are many, many scams and phishing mails which never
would damage anyone, if folks would act only a little more carefully!
So the most simple advice really is: be careful, use common sense
and you will already avoid the majority of scams and frauds, wether
you are a buyer or a seller on eBay.
Being precise:
- Never, really never answer an email that seems to be sent from
eBay by hitting the replay-button.
- Never, really never click on a link in a mail you’ve got to log in to
your eBay-account.
Take the time, type in the URL manually, log in and then proceed.
This way you will avoid by far the most phishing attacks.

During the last few decades, Western Universities have become interested in the various techniques of deep relaxation and the effects it has on the body. During a deeply relaxed state, the heart rate slows down, there is a lowering in blood pressure, a decrease in oxygen consumption, a reduction in the blood lactate (high levels are associated with anxiety), and last but not least, the electrical activity of the brain changes. In recent years it was discovered that the brain has the ability to change its vibrations and in doing so, changes behaviour as well as involuntary functions of internal organs.
The largest part of the brain is called the cerebral cortex and it comprises about 80% of the brain. It is concerned with our conceptual thinking and motor functions. It houses a number of lobes with overlapping thinking, sensory and memory tasks. For our purpose we need to be aware of the two cerebral hemispheres (almost like two separate brains), connected to each other by the corpus callosum (an intricate web of fibres). These hemispheres are largely responsible for different intellectual functions.
The left hemisphere controls the right side of the body and specializes in processing logical, mathematical and analytical information.
The right hemisphere controls the left side of the body and specializes in processing visual, sensory and emotional information.
It is important to realize that the two hemispheres interact, with the result that not all logical functions are processed by the left-hemisphere and not all creative functions are processed by the right-hemisphere.
Electrical activity of the brain can be measured and seen on an electroencephalogram (EEG). Electrodes, attached to a recording device, are placed on a person's scalp to record the brain's electrical activity. These electrodes are not sensitive enough to detect individual action potentials, but can detect the simultaneous action potentials in large numbers of neurons. As a result, the EEG displays wavelike patterns known as brain waves.
CLASSIFICATION OF BRAIN WAVES:
K COMPLEX – measures at 33 and above cycles per second, a state of very high anxiety.
HIGH BETA – 23 – 33 cycles per second, a very tense state in which it is
difficult to e rational.
BETA – 14 – 22 cycles per second. It is the awake-state of physical alertness when the mind and emotions respond to the senses. It is associated with tension and striving.
ALPHA – 7 – 14 cycles per second. In the alpha state a person is deeply relaxed with the mind completely awake. (I call this state the “golden state” - this is as good as it gets. In this state you change your world, you make your dreams come true and you change yourself).
THETA – 3.5 – 7 cycles per second. The state for night-time sleep. Everybody experiences theta twice every normal day – when falling asleep and when waking up in the morning.
DELTA – measures at 0.5 – 3.5 cycles per second. Delta is profound sleep. Dreams take place in delta, as well as regeneration and cell renewal.
Deep breathing slows down the electrical activity of the brain and in doing so, it becomes a powerful relaxation technique that promotes healing on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.
But-how-does-one-breath-correctly………….? The diaphragm is a large dome of muscles that separates the thoracic (chest) cavity from the abdominal cavity. When the muscles of the diaphragm contract, the dome is flattened, increasing the volume of the thorax (chest). During conscious deep breathing, the respiratory muscles contract more forcefully, causing a greater increase in thoracic volume.
Test yourself with this little exercise:
Place one hand on the chest and one just above the middle. Inhale and notice which hand moves the most. If the hand on your chest moves, you do upper-lung breathing, in other words, shallow breathing.
Teach and train yourself to breathe correctly by doing the following exercise:
Sit in an upright chair with the spine straight and the eyes closed, feet flat on the floor a few inches apart. Hands relaxed and in a comfortable position in the lap. Take a long, slow, deep breath and hold for a count of 3. Exhale……. and feel how the body relaxes. Repeat three times. Keep on breathing slowly and deeply. Become aware of how your breathing consciously slows down, relaxing the body more and more as it goes deeper and deeper into a state of deep relaxation. Concentrate only on your breath, breathing deeply until you feel a stillness you have never experienced before. Be at peace with yourself and your world. Breathe deeply for approximately 20 minutes while you think only of your breath and your breathing.

Imagine the next time you join a discussion about Being More Productive. When you start sharing the fascinating facts on Being More Productive, your friends will be absolutely amazed.
Are you one of those people in the office who are always the first to speak up at meetings, volunteer for committees or participate in many office activities? Are you often the first one to arrive at work and the last one to leave? You are always tapping away on your computer and never have time for a lunch brake. You are always jumping from one task to the next, and you usually have a trail of unfinished tasks in your wake. Your productivity suffers.
You are not the only one who faces this problem every day. There are many people like you in the workplace who never finishes one task before moving on to the next. Half a dozen word processing windows, e-mail messages and assorted internet searches take up their computer screen's real estate. Their workspace -- and yours -- is covered with sticky notes and half-read file folders.
Before your nerves snap and you sink so deep into this mess called unproductivity, stop and re-group. Your problems can be easily solved by these two words: Set Goals. Here is an incredibly simple way to start getting these problems under control. Every morning, before you turn on your computer, write down five things that you need to accomplish that day on an index card or a notepad. Make sure you include a small task that you are certain you can complete in one day. This will give you a sense of completion that will eventually be your motivation to finish all of your other tasks. Sooner or later, you will gain a sense of satisfaction in completing daily tasks brought about by writing down your goals. Don't worry if your list is small. You will know when you can add more tasks to your list and be able to accomplish them all during your work day. When you set up your daily goals, make sure you put them in writing and then go ahead and complete all of them. This will help you to cure yourself of daily disorganization and unproductivity.
You may not consider everything you just read to be crucial information about Being More Productive. But don't be surprised if you find yourself recalling and using this very information in the next few days.
Be smart. Don't waste your energy and lose momentum on one task because you let yourself be distracted by another task. Work with your daily goals list. Work on finishing the tasks on your lists first, before tackling any others. Do you really need to be on the Christmas party committee when you have got three reports to finish?
Hopefully the information above has contributed to your understanding of Being More Productive. Share your new understanding about Being More Productive with others. They'll thank you for it some day.
What Are Our Own Perceptions? Published on 19-03-2006

Yes exactly what are our own perceptions, all to often we allow our past to rule our today’s, and govern what we will become tomorrow. We are told we are useless by our piers so we go through life believing in that concept. Never wanting to change through fear of ridicule or actual failure and the inevitable, “I told you so’s” We can all aspire to whatever we wish, but yet we must cast away those threads of doubt haunting us from our past. Only you can control the power others have over you. Happiness does come from within, and being self aware, of being happy with what, and who you are, only then can you be the real you, only then will you achieve your goals.
One of the best ways to dispel these fears of failure is to look within yourself for the one thing you are really good at, be it looking after children or being a friend or a poet, you may be good at relating facts to others, a storyteller maybe. It could be a hobby, painting for instance or drawing, do you like cooking or baking, or even charitable pursuits. Even the smallest thing can be elevated. A sport or health and fitness, literally anything you are good at can help change the way you are, or the way yourself and others perceive you
My own parents told me I was nothing more than a miner’s son, and should accept this fact, and not rock the boat by trying to be anything more than this. My education was basic state education where we were all taught to be miner’s sons and carry on the tradition laid down by our forefather’s or be happy prissy little housewives, prepared for nothing more than stay at home and raise a brood of kids.
Taking that one element you can then aspire to greater levels and create inner happiness and the self-esteem builds on the success you are then creating for yourself.
Everyone is good at one thing the trick is finding that one small thing you can build on. We often go through life never realizing what our one talent actually is and often it really does take a friend to point this out, so do listen when they say, “You’re really good at this or that aren’t you”. My own, one thing, I was always good at was art, and yes all through my life my friends have always given my artwork praise. Oh! I wished I'd listened, for it was not until much later in life that I actually started to believe them. As an adult learner in the UK I went to college, my confidence grew as I found my many hidden talents, not just the one. Surrounded by creativity on all sides, praises for my efforts and the success's in the final exams, gave me the life skills I was missing for so long, so its never to late to change these negative ways and attitudes.
Once you yourself begin on the road to building success’s, the pat’s on the back the well done’s all add to your inner state of well being. And success builds confidence and your inner happiness grows with it. Your past fears are then history and can only hurt you if you let them. I still have days of self doubt even today, and I slip into depressions, but never for too long as my inner confidence and overall well being brings me back to my senses and the realization that it is all in my own mind and nothing more.
Exercise! Movement Sufficiency NOT Calorie Deficiency Published on 23-05-2006

If you want to reduce your body fat, then you must focus on increasing
the amount of exercise you perform rather than decreasing your food
intake. National studies and from my personal experience from years of
exercise and nutrition counseling leads me to an interesting and
significant relationship between lack of physical activity and fat. Not
surprisingly, the more sedentary you are the more body fat you will
possess.
I strongly recommend people who want to lose weight start increasing
their physical activity. Just being more active in general (such as
climbing the stairs instead of taking the elevator, mowing your lawn
with a push mower instead of a riding mower, moving around instead of
sitting still, sitting instead of lying down and even showing some
excitement and enthusiasm instead of boredom), are all things that more
effectively burn calories and reduces body fat.
Everyone seems to have lost sight of the value of being active.
Consider this: A half-hour aerobic workout accounts for far less energy
expenditure than our minute-to-minute movement patterns in the office or
at home including things as simple as washing your dishes by hand
instead of using a dishwasher. It all adds up.
Millions of Americans are trying to lose weight, spending approximately
$30 billion plus a year on diet programs and products, and often, they
do lose some weight. But if you check with the same people five years
later, you will find that nearly all have regained whatever weight they
lost. I recently read about a national panel that sought data to
determine if any commercial diet program could prove long-term success.
Not a single program could do so.
Being overweight and especially being obese predisposes you to a number
of diseases and serious health problems, and it's now a known fact that
when caloric intake is excessive, guess what happens to the excess? It’s
stored as body fat.
Elevated blood sugar is the culprit, because most people eat an excess
of carbohydrates both simple and complex. When this happens, a cascade
of hormonal actions occur to maintain balance. The more you eat this
way, the more fat you accumulate and that fat becomes much more
difficult to remove. I cannot emphasize enough the need for human
movement.
The lack of movement has many negative effects on your body and body
structures. For example: a lack of movement causes many negative effects
on your joints, ligaments, bones, muscles and your heart such as
shrinking of the joint capsules, increased compression loading on your
joints, decreased thickness of collagen fibers for failure rate of your
ligaments, decreased bone density and bone spurs in your bones,
decreased muscle mass, decreased mitochondrial content, decreased
thickening of collagen fibers for your muscles, decreased maximal heart
rate decreased the O2 Max for your heart.
According to Seaman and the Journal of medical physical therapy, "two
main promoters of degeneration are repetitive strain and sedentary
lifestyle."
People who diet without exercising often get fatter with time. Although
your weight may initially drop while dieting, such weight loss can
usually be attributed to elimination of excess fluid. As stated above,
when the weight returns, it comes back as fat and more stubborn fat.
As you lose weight via diet only, your body's calorie burning furnace is
reduced. What happens is your physiology interprets the dramatic
decrease calories and moves on its innate starvation instincts. To avoid
getting fatter over time, increase your metabolism by exercising
regularly.
In my last newsletter, I talked about walking. Walking is one of the
best exercises for strengthening bones, controlling weight, toning the
leg muscles, maintaining good posture and improving positive self-
concept. Increasing your daily movement can be as simple as walking
more.
Another great way to reduce body fat is by resistance training. There
are many types of resistance training that are very effective at
building muscle (and muscle burns body fat). These programs can be fun
and engaging at the same time.
One program I highly recommend is what I call” the spin routine.” The
routine incorporates all different movement patterns, aerobic and
interval training in addition to fat burning.
Here is an example of a level I spin routine:
Spin Training Routine One
Exercise Rest Intensity Tempo Repetitions Sets
A1Squat 90's BW/60%1rm Slow 12-15 1-3
A2 Bench Press 60% 1rm 313 12-15 1-3
/Push Ups
A3 Dynamic Lunge BW 313 12-15 L/R 1-3
A4 Chek Press 60% 1rm 333 8-12 1-3
A5 Lat Pull Down 60% 1rm 313 12-15 1-3
Perform all exercise one after the other with no rest
Ex: A1-A2-A3-A4-A5 rest 90's repeat for desired sets
Core Routine
4 point transverse/ BW 10H-10R 15 1
abdominis vacuum
Floor Crunch 60s BW Slow 8-12 1-3
Cardio Workout: 15 minutes hard after the above resistance training
session. You have a choice of what you would like to do. Choose from:
Exercise Bike, Elliptical machine, Treadmill, Stair climber, Versa
climber.
Circuit training is performed without any rest between exercises. Only
rest after each circuit of exercises in this case 1 and ½ minutes or 90
s.
You can also put together your own routine using the exercises in this
section. Just make sure you can do the exercises in proper form and
never go to failure (muscular fatigue) like in bodybuilding. Always do
core conditioning last. This prevents stabilizer fatigue and possible
injury.
All exercise should follow the basic protocol as described below.
Exercise: The exercise to be performed in the core routine. Each
exercise is placed in order of execution.
Rest: This is the period of time you rest between exercises or if given
more then one set between sets of the same exercise. Min or sec can
display the number.
Intensity: This is the amount of workload or how hard you are going to
work. BW indicates bodyweight. You will find out what intensity you
should use with regard to the amount of weight by the repetition number.
If you see - 2 then this means stop two reps before your maximum effort.
Lifting Speed or Tempo: This indicates speed of movement. The first
number indicates the first movement of the exercise, the second number
indicates isometric part of the exercise and the third number indicates
the final part of the exercise. For example: 323 simply means three
seconds on the first movement, hold for two seconds and three seconds on
the final part of the movement. Also there are times when it will be
displayed in 10-second hold (H) and 10-second rest. Plus there will be
times when you see slow, medium and fast.
Reps: This is the amount of muscular action you do within a set. When
you can complete more then the described amount of reps with no muscle
soreness, increase the weight by five percent. A – sign may be in front
of some repetition suggestions in the exercise table. The – sign
indicates to not go to the maximum amount of reps. A – 2 simply means do
not go all the way to 10 if the rep window is 8-10.
Sets: This is the amount of workload for a given exercise sequence. For
example: if you see an exercise that says sets 1-3, then begin with one
set of the exercise. You can add sets as long as you have no muscle
soreness at the next scheduled workout date.
When it comes to good health and weight loss, exercise and diet are
inter-related. Exercising without maintaining a balanced diet is no
more beneficial than dieting while remaining inactive.
